Ulrike Bodammer

YTT Vinyasa, Kundalini, Pranayama, Gong

My passion is to guide you through an honest and deep experience of your inner and outer realities and states of being. There are as many unique experiences and pathways in a class as there are participants, and your individual experience depends on your own personal life’s journey, your own questions, and your own unique history and perspective in this present Moment. I am interested in providing a safe space where you can be your own loving explorer, challenge yourself in a balanced manner, and, of course, have fun while doing all of this, so that you may be positively surprised with new insights.

My approach is undogmatic as I integrate ancient yogic philosophy into our present age and offer you tools for navigating through these challenging times. This will allow you to truly have a holistic development in your Yoga practice.

And here we come to the reason why I love Yoga and why I value it so deeply:
it is an amazingly articulate and respectful way of addressing essential human needs and has the potential to liberate our incredible capacity to experience and tune into more subtle mind and soul consciousness. It may sound esoteric, but the experience speaks for itself.

My Classes are physically challenging yet calm, grounding and incredibly precise. I’m often quite nerdy when it comes to details; however, there are also moments free-flowing  in both outer and inner spaces, and you will always have a great time realising and befriending your own all-knowing, healing teacher.

Now to the matter of me and my background:
I am warm and open-minded, yet I’m also an emphatic pragmatic. Having grown up here, I am a real Berliner. I lived in Brussels for 5 Years to study circus acrobatics and dance at the École Superieure des Arts du Cirque. I then danced professionally in San Francisco, Berlin,  and throughout Europe and Japan until I brought  two amazing Children into the world in 2007 & 2012. I then completed  a teacher training in Vinyasa Yoga, pre & post natal yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and Gong playing.  I’ve been teaching courses full-on ever since (sometimes 10 Classes per week in various studios), as well as teaching private students, and leading mind-blowing gong meditations once a month! Now I’m here every day lovingly bringing you into flow and to your own essence on your mat.

For the detail-lovers:
-I994  Without knowing what I was getting myself into, I started with Kundalini Yoga and fell in love with it.
-1998-2000 I was certified in all Grades as a Reiki teacher and master in the system by Master Usui.
-1999 I received my Diploma of the “Ecole Superieure des Arts du Cirque” in Brussels in the discipline of Partner-acrobatics (Acro-porté-main à main), flying trapeze (trapeze volant) and contemporary dance.
-Since 2003 I’ve been back in Berlin while also working in San Francisco and New York as a contemporary freelance dancer for various choreographers such as Jess Curtis/Gravity, and ongoing with Tino Sehgal in fine art contexts throughout the world like the Biennale in Venice, the Guggenheim in New York and Odawara Art Foundation in Japan.

And the teaching Yoga Part ?  ;o)
Long before my first Teacher Training, I was teaching classes mostly in the dance world and delved deeper into this world by offering company training for Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods in Kundalini Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, meditation, Pranayama, and gong, as well as working as a movement coach on tour and during the rehearsal periods.
-In 2009 I finished my first teacher training at Spirit Yoga in Berlin Mitte

Directly followed by the pre & post-natal training
-In 2012 I completed my Kundalini Yoga teacher training at Amrit Nam Sarovar KRI International and completed my Training as a Gong Player/Teacher/Therapist with the esteemed Nanak Dev Singh Khalsa.
-Since then, I’ve continuously been inspired by various yogic styles such as Anusara, Therapeutic Hatha, Yin, and Forest Yoga

As you can see, I’m an “alter Hase” in this field in so far as I’ve lived a lot and intensely in many aspects of life. Through my diverse insights, I share my knowledge in being a seeker for body/spirit/well-being/juggling life/balancing and grounding. I offer a base for you to live and enjoy your life fully, honestly and holistically. I am here, and I’m looking forward to meeting you.
